Discussion to focus on community building

The Institute for Nonprofits and Department of Social Work at N.C. State University are hosting a Community Building Colloquium Oct. 24.

Featured speakers include Jocelyn Taliaferro, assistant professor of social work at N.C. State; Lillian Wichinsky, a social work instructor at N.C. State; and Jeffrey Leiter, research director for the Institute.

Marie Weil, associate dean of the School of Social Work at UNC-Chapel Hill, will moderate the panel.

Topics will include forging university-community partnerships, exploring the relationship of organizational culture and climate to collaboration, and dilemmas facing coalitions and networks.

The meeting, which is open to the public and free of charge, will be held from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the J.C. Raulston Arboretum at N.C. State.

The deadline for registration is Oct 17.
