Nonprofit Congress wins $125,000 in grants

The National Council of Nonprofit Associations has received two grants to spur funding for the development of a platform of issues for the nonprofit sector.

The council’s Nonprofit Congress was awarded a $25,000 cash grant and a $100,000 challenge grant from the Nonprofits’ Insurance Alliance of California and the Alliance of Nonprofits for Insurance, Risk and Retention Group.

The Nonprofit Congress, led by a steering committee of nonprofit leaders, will gather information from nonprofits over the next two years to create a national platform, the council says.

The congress will use the input to identify values and issues common to nonprofits and create a movement within the sector to enhance the impact of the sector and “guide our political leaders in the creation of humane policies and laws for America.”
