WakeMed names development director

RALEIGH, N.C. — The WakeMed Foundation has named Michael Guillot, former CEO of Virtual Development Group in New Orleans, as director of development.

The foundation, still in the quiet phase of a campaign to raise $50 million, already has raised nearly $10 million, says Kevin McCarthy, executive director and vice president for development

That includes a lead gift from Ron Doggett, campaign chair and retired chairman and CEO of Goodmark Foods, and his wife, Jeannette.

In recognition of the gift, WakeMed has named its neonatal intensive care unit for the Doggetts.
