The Forum of Regional Associations of Grantmakers is seeking input from giving circles for a study on the trend and its impact on donors and philanthropy.
The forum published an initial report last year, “Giving Together: A National Scan of Giving Circles and Shared Giving,” that includes facts and figures about giving circles, plus information on launching them.
The effort is part of a “knowledge center” within the forum’s website that is intended to serve as a resource for starting, managing and growing giving circles.
The second round of research, for which the forum is seeking input, will try to determine the nature and extend to giving circles in the U.S.
It will focus on circles that have been in existence for several years and will analyze their impact on their members and hosts.
To submit information to the forum about a giving circle, email firstname.lastname@example.org, with Giving Circle Study in the subject line.
