V Foundation gets $1 million pledge

 |

RALEIGH, N.C. – The V Foundation for Cancer Research received a 10-year, $1 million commitment from three companies to aid the foundation in its quest to find a cure for cancer.

Wakefield Development Co., 1st American Builders and Stock Building Supply joined forces to make the commitment.

Over the next decade, the contribution will support the foundation’s efforts to fund and coordinate cancer research between Duke Comprehensive Cancer Center and UNC Hospitals’ Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Funds for the pledge are being generated through the sale of charity homes built by the three companies.

The second V Foundation Charity Home, located in Raleigh, is close to completion, according to a press release.
