Healing Place hits milestone

RALEIGH, N.C. — The number of homeless men with substance-abuse problems The Healing Place of Wake County has served since it opened in January 2001 has grown to more than 4,000, the group says.

The 180 beds in its men’s facility have been used more than 300,000 times, the group says.

The Healing Place also says its facility for women that opened in January 2006 has served more than 400 individuals, and the beds in that facility have been used more than 10,000 times.

Because of demand, the women’s facility has increased the number of its beds to 98 from 88.
