Through a $1.5 million gift, the Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University will establish the nation’s first endowed university chair in fundraising.

The donation from fundraiser and businessman Bob Hartsook was used to create the Robert F. Hartsook Chair in Fundraising, which will support Adrian Sargeant as its first scholar.

Sargeant currently serves as adjunct professor of philanthropic studies at the Indiana University’s Center on Philanthropy.

He is also a professor of nonprofit marketing at the University of the West of England and visiting professor of philanthropy at the Centre of Philanthropy and Nonprofit Studies at Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane, Australia.
