 |

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — On Oct. 25, Hospitality House of Charlotte broke ground on a $2.2 million, 15,000-square-foot building that will house visiting families of patients being treated at Charlotte-area hospitals.

The house, which will be built at 1400 Scott Ave., will have 20 guest rooms, a living and entertainment area, and a kitchen with two dining areas.

Services currently split between the Scott Avenue and Hawthorne Lane Houses will be consolidated in the new facility.

Funds for the house come from the Goodrich Foundation, Carolinas HealthCare Foundation, Bank of America Charitable Foundation Inc., C.D. Spangler Foundation and Kate B. Reynolds Charitable Trust, among others.
