Women’s law center gets $10 million

The Ford Foundation awarded a $10 million challenge grant to the National Women’s Law Center, requiring the center to raise an additional $5 million.

The money will be used to create an endowment geared toward the 35-year-old organization’s sustainability.

Entering the second year of its three-year drive, the Center has secured pledges totaling $2.5 million.

Brooksley Born, chair of the Center’s board of directors, called the $10 million pledge “an extraordinary vote of confidence in the Center’s work.”
