Disability data gets boost

 |

In a partnership formed earlier this year, The Foundation Center and the Disability Funders Network plan by May 2007 to provide grantmakers and grantseekers with the most useful and accessible information on disability funding currently available.

Based on recommendations from the Disability Funders Network, the Foundation Center is incorporating accepted disability terminology and funding information into its national database, and the two organizations are jointly developing training materials for disability groups and funders.

The two groups also are reaching out to grantmakers to inform them of the new resources, and encouraging them to report to the Foundation Center regularly to ensure that the material remains up-to-date and comprehensive.

The project is funded by the NEC Foundation of America, the American Express Foundation, the Community Technology Foundation of California, AT&T, IBM and Cingular Wireless.
