Cumberland funder reaches new high

 |

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — The Cumberland Community Foundation closed its 25th year of operation with record assets, thanks to an outpouring of community support in December.

The funder received $1.9 million in gifts during the last month of 2006, bringing its assets to $34.7 million, up from $30.6 million in 2005.

Total gifts for the year were $4.3 million.

The 2006 gains are expected to support additional grants to be distributed to local charities in 2007.
