As part of the launch of its new community grantmaking program, the Triangle Community Foundation will hold a series of information sessions across the area this month.
The new program will award at least $300,000 annually, with an average grant size of $10,000 to $15,000, to small local nonprofits for efforts involving civic engagement and youth leadership and development.
The foundation also plans to seek additional funding to support community collaboration activities.
Eligible organizations must be based in the Triangle with operating budgets that do not exceed $750,000.
The foundation will issue a request for proposals on Feb. 12, with proposals due April 2 and grants announced on June 6.
Interested nonprofits may send up to two representatives to one of the upcoming information sessions at the following locations:
*Jan. 18: Chatham Council on Aging, 1:30-2:30 p.m., Pittsboro
*Jan. 22: Durham Center for Senior Life, 3:30-4:30 p.m., Durham
*Jan. 26: Triangle YMCA Metro Administrative office, 9:30-10:30 a.m., Raleigh
*Jan. 30: Carrboro Century Center, 1:30—2:30 p.m., Carrboro
