Gift endows chair in sexual-orientation law

The UCLA School of Law received a $1 million gift endowing what it says is the first chair of sexual-orientation law at its Williams Institute for Sexual Orientation Law & Public Policy.

John McDonald and Rob Wright made the gift to endow the McDonald Wright Chair of Law, to be held by a member of the faculty of UCLA Law and the Williams Institute.

The two are longtime supporters of initiatives benefiting the gay community, including the Los Angeles Gay & Lesbian Center.
