Ad campaign launched for insurance program

The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation is going to bat for uninsured children through an ad campaign urging congress to renew a program extending healthcare to millions of kids.

In order to mobilize public pressure on lawmakers, the Foundation will launch a $3 million ad campaign to support reauthorization of the State Children’s Health Insurance Program.

The program, which helps extend health insurance to an estimated 9 million uninsured children in the U.S., is set to expire this year if it is not reauthorized.

The advertising push is part of the Foundation’s Cover the Uninsured campaign, an effort to bring national attention to a pressing need for health coverage among Americans.
