A statewide advocacy organization representing North Carolina’s children will present Tom Lambeth with its second annual Lifetime Legacy Award in recognition of his efforts to improve the lives of the state’s children and youth.
Lambeth, former executive director of the Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation in Winston-Salem, will receive the award from Action for Children North Carolina at a benefit June 13 at the George Watts Hill Alumni Center on the campus of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
The event will feature remarks from well-known North Carolinians, including Erskine Bowles, president of the University of North Carolina system, and Bill Friday, former president of the system.
Proceeds from ticket sales for the event will benefit Action for Children North Carolina.
Tickets, which cost $175 per person, can be purchased on the group’s website.
