SALISBURY, N.C. — The 14th annual Rowan-Cabarrus Community College Foundation Golf Tournament has raised a record $20,000 to fund student scholarships and foundation activities.

The May 11 event in Salisbury drew 218 participants, also a record, drumming up support for the school that serves 20,000 people from Rowan and Cabarrus Counties.

Sponsors of the tournament included Southeastern Packaging, the North Carolina Research Campus, Philip Morris USA and the community college’s student government association.

In addition to 40 programs of study and over 2,000 course offerings, the school provides job-training programs to meet workforce requirements of the research campus currently under construction in Kannapolis.
