Church plugs Urban Ministry funding gap

 |

GREENSBORO, N.C. – A local church has stepped up to cover the financial shortfall created when the Guilford County Board of Commissioners cut its funding to Greensboro Urban Ministry.

After hearing of the commissioners’ decision to trim payments to area nonprofits, including $30,0000 to the Urban Ministry, the members the Christian City Church of Greensboro agreed to donate $40,000 to the charity to make up for the lost funds.

The contribution from the 500-member congregation will be used to help fund the ministry’s Pathways Center, a residential facility for homeless families.
