RALEIGH, N.C. – Two of the state’s leading advocacy groups for progressive public policy have teamed up with the goal of increasing the pace of change in North Carolina.
NC Policy Watch, a Raleigh-based state government watchdog group founded as a project of the A.J. Fletcher Foundation, has joined the North Carolina Justice Center.
Both advocacy groups will retain their independent identities, with Policy Watch operating as a special project of the Justice Center, which will receive a four-year $1 million general operating grant from the Fletcher Foundation to fund Policy Watch.
“These are critical and contentious times in North Carolina, and the state needs strong and uncompromising voices,” says Chris Fitzsimon, director of Policy Watch. “By combining our efforts, we’ll be able to have a bigger impact than ever before on the issues that matter most.”
While the shift was effective in early August, Policy Watch plans in September to move its offices from the Fletcher Foundation to the Justice Center.
