Food Bank taps Werbicki

 |

RALEIGH, N.C. – The Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina has named its acting president and CEO, Peter Werbicki, as the permanent head of the organization, effective immediately.

Werbicki has served as the interim leader of the charity since June 1, succeeding former president and CEO Jane Cox, who led the Food Bank for nine years.

Cox now is the managing director of Leadership Forum Inc., a Durham-based international consulting practice.

Werbicki joined the Food Bank 10 years ago and most recently served as vice president of operations before being named acting president and CEO.

The Food Bank, which serves 34 central and Eastern North Carolina counties, distributed more than 32.6 million pounds of food last year.
