Women givers conference comes to Raleigh

RALEIGH, N.C. – A one-day conference on women’s giving networks has been set for October 15 in Raleigh.

The second annual North Carolina Network of Women Givers Conference, sponsored by NCGives, is designed to help women connect with and learn from each other, with the goal of growing women’s giving funds across the state.

Speakers include Valeria Lee, president of the Golden LEAF Foundation, and representatives of the Charlotte’s Women’s Impact Fund, which has more than 350 members and has awarded almost $1 million in grants since 2004.

Breakout sessions will be offered on a variety of topics, including grantmaking, recruiting and retaining members, rural groups, gay and lesbian funds, giving circles and planned giving.

The event will be help from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at St. Augustine’s College in Raleigh.

The cost is $25 per person and registration is required.
