 |

RALEIGH, N.C. – Meredith College surpassed its fundraising goal, bringing in $41.5 million during its six-year Campaign for Meredith.

The school exceeded its goal of $33.5 million by 24 percent, bringing its endowment to $85.6 million as of the end of June, up from $55.8 million in 2001.

The funds created 11 new funding initiatives for student travel and 93 new scholarships, including the Alumnae Legacy Scholarship, Meredith’s first full four-year merit-based scholarship.

Gifts to the school’s annual fund rose during the campaign, topping $740,000 in 2007.

The campaign was chaired by alumnae trustees Jo Ellen Williams Ammons, Michelle Rich Goode and Yvette Brown.
