CHARLOTTE, N.C. — NASCAR driver Kasey Kahne has donated $500,000 to Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte to build a facility serving the families of patients at two local hospitals.

The new Ronald McDonald House will provide a place to stay for the families of critically ill children who are patients at Levine Children’s Hospital at Carolinas Medical Center and Presbyterian Hemby Children’s Hospital.

With an anticipated completion date in 2008, the new 30,000 square-foot house will have up to 21 private suites and bedrooms, kitchens, a great

room, playground and a sitting porch.

Kahne, a long-time supporter of the Ronald McDonald House, is founder of the Kasey Kahne Foundation.
