Security was breached recently at GetActive’s platform, now owned by Convio, but the company says the information taken from a small subset of its clients does not include credit-card data or personally-identifiable information.
GetActive provides charities with online constituent-management services, including databases and tools for emailing, event management, fundraising and advocacy.
From Oct. 23 through Nov. 1, someone outside the company downloaded email addresses and passwords of the constituents of 92 clients that use the GetActive platform. Clients using the Convio platform were not affected.
All clients, including those unaffected by the breach, have been notified by the company and Convio says it has fully repaired the breach.
Convio says it is helping clients minimize the effects of the breach and is working with federal authorities to investigate the theft.
