George H. O’Neal III, former president and CEO of Triangle Family Services in Raleigh, has been named director of Spring Festival and community relations for Boys and Girls Country, a Christian home near Houston for children from families in crisis.
The Spring Festival is a carnival that brings roughly 2,500 adults and children to the group’s campus in Hockley, Tex.
The event, scheduled for May 3, is expected to net roughly $400,000, up from nearly $350,000 this year, O’Neal says.
On Nov. 6, he says, he participated in the organization’s Heritage Dinner, an event that featured entertainer Bill Cosby, attracted 2,500 guests, and netted $1.7 million, exceeding its goal by $200,000.
O’Neal resigned as president and CEO of Triangle Family Services in September after heading the agency for nearly 21 years.
