MicroEdge acquires British firm

MicroEdge, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Advent Software that provides solutions for grantmakers, has acquired Vivid Orange, a London-based company that provides solutions for corporate community involvement and corporate giving.

New York City-based MicroEdge says SmartChange, a web-based solution of Vivid Orange designed to help companies and charities manage their corporate community involvement and employee giving initiatives, is the leading product of its type in Britain, with clients that include major global companies in the financial-services, pharmaceutical, energy and media sectors.

During the past year, MicroEdge says, it worked with Vivd Orange on several pilot projects in the U.S. to incorporate SmartChange technology into employee-drive programs such as matching gifts, giving campaigns and volunteer involvement at companies such as Royal Caribbean Cruises.

“The demand for hosted solutions continues to increase significantly,” MicroEdge President Jim Weil says in a statement.

San Francisco-based Advent Software provides solutions for financial professionals, and firms in 60 countries that manage nearly $14 trillion in investments use its technology, Microedge says.
