Kellogg funds King Memorial

Marking Black History Month, the W.K. Kellogg Foundation has donated $3 million to help fund a memorial for the late Martin Luther King Jr.

The donation is the largest to date for the Martin Luther King Jr. National Memorial Project Foundation in Washington, D.C.

The foundation is raising money to build a four-acre memorial, between the Lincoln and Jefferson memorials, on the National Mall in the center of the nation’s capital,.

Including the Kellogg donation, the Memorial Foundation stands $10 million shy of its $90 million goal.

The memorial is schedule to be completed next year.
