Adult classes on human resources planned

 |

RALEIGH, N.C. – After years of providing undergraduate education in human resources, Peace College this fall will launch a continuing-education program aimed at adults in that field.

“We believe that this will provide our HR colleagues another option for re-certification courses as well as reach out to local government, nonprofit and private business employers who want to provide quality professional development for their employees,” says Heather A. Lee, associate professor of human resources at Peace and coordinator of the human-resources program.

In 1995, Peace offered the first human-resources bachelor’s degree in North Carolina.

Led by Lee and Kathy Corley, the undergraduate program was designed to parallel the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) learning system, long before the SHRM curriculum initiative was implemented in 2007.

The continuing-education program will provide a combination of courses developed at Peace with those developed by SHRM.
