DURHAM, N.C. – The Triangle Community Foundation has awarded a total of about $275,000 to 20 local groups through its community grantmaking program.
Nine groups received funds for youth leadership and development activities, while the remaining 11 grants funded civic-engagement efforts.
The community grantmaking program was created in 2007 as a way for nonprofit organizations, religious congregations and governmental entities with annual budgets under $750,000 to access funding from the foundation.
With the spring grantmaking round completed, the foundation now is accepting applications for the fall 2008 cycle. Applications and additional information can be found online.
The Triangle Community Foundation, based in Durham, manages almost 700 philanthropic funds, totaling $147 million in assets, benefiting nonprofits working in Wake, Durham, Orange and Chatham counties.
