WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Two events focusing on women and giving will be held in North Carolina in November.
The third-annual North Carolina Gathering of Women Givers will be held at Winston-Salem State University on Nov. 10.
The conference is designed to strengthen the capacity of women givers across the state. Attendees will learn about the specific skills, resources and talents women are using to address important community problems.
Women will share with each other their stories of the impact their giving has had on their communities. Following the conference, organizers will assemble the information and share a report with women givers across the state.
The event, which runs from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., costs $50 per person and includes lunch and materials. Register online.
On Nov. 20, the Women’s Network, a Wake County-based program of the North Carolina Community Foundation, will hold its 2008 annual grants luncheon and grants presentation ceremony in downtown Raleigh.
The keynote address will be given by Ana Oliveira, president and CEO of the New York Women’s Foundation, which serves low-income women and children in New York City.
The luncheon will be held from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Marriott City Center in downtown Raleigh; tickets are $45, which includes valet parking. To receive an invitation, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
