Some nonprofit professionals, uncomfortable with the high-tech aspects of their operations, are intimidated by the task of hiring information-technology staff.

While some professionals are willing to sacrifice social acumen for technical know-how in a new candidate, others are more concerned with how the new staff member will mesh with the rest of the organization.
