Opera Carolina cuts costs

Opera Carolina, Charlotte, postponed until May season-opening production of Verdi’s Otello inititally scheduled for October, reduced number of performances to two, and cancelled May 2010 production of American premiere of Transit of Venus; changes were response to cut of $245,000, or 33 percent, in funding from Arts & Science Council.
