CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A community forum on Oct. 5 will focus on the charitable needs in the Charlotte area brought about by the recession.

WFAE 90.7 FM will host the event, which is designed to help Charlotte residents better understand the community’s needs and find new ways to meet them.

The forum will feature a panel of experts that includes Todd Cohen, editor and publisher of the Philanthropy Journal; Carol Hardison, executive director of Crisis Assistance Ministry; and Richard “Stick” Williams, president of Duke Energy Foundation.

Part of a series of forums called “Public Conversations,” the event will review suggestions received in a recent community survey and will include questions from the audience.

The forum will be held from 6:30-8 p.m. Oct. 5 in McGlohon Theatre at Charlotte’s Spirit Square.

Admission is free and open to the public, but reservations must be made online.
