ASHEVILLE, N.C. – Two events designed to benefit nonprofits in the western part of the state will be held in Asheville on Oct. 26.

The Foundation Fair, an open-house event hosted by the N.C. Network of Grantmakers, will feature representatives of more than a dozen foundations, including The Duke Endowment, Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation and Community Foundation of Western North Carolina.

The event is designed to help nonprofits better understand the missions and grantmaking goals of participating funders.

The fair is free, but attendees are asked to reserve a spot at one of two sessions, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., or from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

From 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., Western North Carolina Nonprofit Pathways will host its annual Nonprofit Leadership Forum, focusing on how nonprofits are adapting to the new economic environment.

Peter York, senior vice president and director of research for TCC Group will provide the keynote address, “The Sustainability Formula.”

Roundtable discussions, a networking reception with nonprofits and funders, and an update on capacity-building opportunities through Nonprofit Pathways, also will be included.

The fee for the event is $15 and online registration is available.
