Ford investing $100 million for arts spaces

The Ford Foundation will spend $100 million over 10 years to develop arts spaces throughout the U.S., the funder’s biggest investment ever in arts facilities, The New York Times reported April 4 (see Ford arts funding story).

Foundation raises and pools donations from atheists

Modeling his giving on the collection plate he saw in church, atheist Dale McGowan five years ago created a nonprofit foundation that solicits and pools donations from atheists to support groups in fields like public health, environmentalism, gay rights and refugee aid, The New York Times reported April 2 (see atheist’s foundation story).
