RALEIGH, N.C. — Habitat for Humanity of Wake County is among 163 affiliates across the U.S. chosen to participate in an effort to offer expanded services to needy families.
The Neighborhood Revitalization Initiative, led by Habitat International, couples home construction with other related services with the goal of improving well-being across entire neighborhoods.
Additional services offered by Wake Habitat could include rehabilitation of foreclosed and vacant properties and repairs for low-income homeowners.
“We look forward to expanding our efforts to help families while making significant improvements in some of the most troubled neighborhoods in Wake County,” Kevin Campbell, executive director of the Wake affiliate, says in a statement.
The initiative was launched last year and includes a diverse group of affiliates with the goal of apply lessons from these early efforts to improve and expand the program over time.
