Aug. 12: Wake Tech, Inter-Faith Food Shuttle, N.C. Hospital Association, and more

Wake Technical Community College, Raleigh, received grants totaling more than $2.1 million in the 2009-10 fiscal year.


Inter-Faith Food Shuttle teaming up with volunteers from BB&T to upgrade Food Shuttle’s vegetable production farm, participate in BackPack Buddies Program for school children and deliver grocery bags with fresh produce to seniors.


N.C. Hospital Association’s foundation and N.C. Prevention Partners received two-year grant from The Duke Endowment to help North Carolina hospital employees and patients quit the use of tobacco.


GEICO pledged support to John Avery Boys & Girls Club, Durham, for Project Learn offered in after-school and summer-camp programs.


DHIC, Raleigh, received $10,000 grant from RBC Bank in support of homebuyer education and counseling efforts in its Homeownership Center.
