Sept. 20: Cherokee, Artspace, Greensboro United Arts, and more

Cherokee Preservation Foundation awarded 22 grants totaling over $2.4 million to support cultural preservation, economic development, job creation and environmental preservation.


Artspace, Raleigh, received $35,082 from North Carolina Arts Council, $138,000 from City of Raleigh Arts Commission and $37,340 from United Arts Council of Raleigh & Wake County, all for general operating costs, and $2,000 from Target and$ 2,500 from Bank of America for outreach program.


United Arts Council of Greater Greensboro investing total of $30,000 in seven community initiatives to support arts programming for multicultural projects.


Wake Education Partnership selected as this year’s beneficiary of 21st annual Capital City Rotary Golf Classic, to be held Oct. 25, Prestonwood Country Club, Cary.


Housing Opportunity Foundation, Charlotte Regional Realtor Association, awarded total of $10,000 to Changed Choices, Men’s Shelter of Charlotte, Residential and Support Services, and Samaritan House.


Twenty area builders teaming up to build 7 houses, Sept. 20-24, in The Village of Northside, Greensboro. Since 2003, 36 homes built in partnership with Greensboro Builders Association.
