Sept. 23: Hospice, Salvation Army, Harris Teeter, and more

Hospice of Wake County received $25,000 grant from Wake County’s Women’s Giving Network, making possible the introduction of Wonders & Worries, support program for children of parents with chronic or life-threatening illness.


The Salvation Army Ken Carlson Boys & Girls Club and The Salvation Army International Boys & Girls Club, Winston-Salem, each received $6,000 from Walmart Foundation to help feed young members after school and this past summer during camp.


Salvation Army Boys & Girls Clubs of Greensboro getting $20,000 grant from Time Warner Cable to assist school aged youth in improving their math and science grades, and attract them to careers in those disciplines.


Annual donation-card campaign at Harris Teeter from Aug. 16 to 19 raised $150,487 to benefit the United Ways and up from $118,469 last year.
