Nov. 10: UNC-CH, Salvation Army, Penland, and more

Anonymous donor made $1.5 million commitment to University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for incoming students selected for new Global Gap Year Fellowship Program to have opportunity to spend year in international service before first year at school.


Salvation Army of Wake County received grant from John Rex Endowment to support new program, Project CATCH, to create system of care for homeless families with children in Wake County through establishment of community of practice among area shelters.


Penland School of Crafts, Yancey County, awarded $95,000 from North Carolina Arts Council.
