Nov. 12: Bristol-Myers Squibb, Love’s, Lowe’s, and more

American Academy of Family Physicians Foundation received $5 million grant from Bristol-Myers Squibb Foundation to evaluate how combination of peer support, community outreach and ongoing relationship with a primary-care physician can impact health outcomes and quality of life for low-income Hispanic patients with diabetes.


Love’s Travel Stops & Country Stores, Oklahoma City, raised record-high $970,000 during 12th annual fundraising campaign benefitting Children’s Miracle Network, with Love family foundation donating additional $30,000.


Lowe’s Charitable and Educational Foundation giving $1.25 million over two years to Teach for America.


Caterpillar Foundation through Dec. 31, 2010, will match new donations from corporations and small businesses, dollar-for-dollar up to $1 million total, to Opportunity International to help alleviate global poverty through savings-based microfinance programs.


Rose Community Foundation, Denver, awarded 110 grants totaling over $2.3 million in third quarter 2010.


Rasmuson Foundation, Anchorage, awarded 68 grants totaling nearly $2.6 million in second and third quarters 2010.
