Nov. 22: SkillUp Washington, UPS, Paul Allen, and more

SkillUp Washington, Seattle, awarded $1.8 million grant from Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to fund partnerships among community colleges, community organizations and local workforce boards to prepare and support groups of young people motivated to go to college but needing to strengthen basic skills to succeed.


UPS Foundation awarded nine grants totaling nearly $2 million to environmental programs and organizations worldwide.


Paul G. Allen Family Foundation launched program to award $9.4 million over three years to fund seven researchers at universities and laboratories in Washington, California, Massachusetts and New York to advance neuroscience and cellular engineering research.
