Nov. 23: High Point Regional, Greensboro Symphony, GSK, and more

High Point Regional Health System received $380,000 grant from The Duke Endowment to collaborate with the Mental Health Association in High Point to establish outpatient treatment services for needy adults who suffer from severe and persistent mental illness.


Ann Sherman endowed $40,000 violin chair at Greensboro Symphony Orchestra in memory of David Sherman.


GlaxoSmithKline named 12 health-care nonprofits in North Carolina and Philadelphia area as winners of GlaxoSmithKline IMPACT Awards to receive total of $480,000 for providing access to health care for the underserved in their communities.


Launch of Women to Women, first permanent grantmaking endowment in Greensboro focused on needs of region’s women and families, attracted 700 women to Nov. 18 luncheon and generated over $100,000 in donations.
