Dec. 6: Belk, Easter Seals UCP, Wake Hospice, and more

Belk’s semi-annual fall charity sale raised over $4.75 million for hundreds of local charities, schools and nonprofits throughout company’s 16-state market area; combined with spring charity sale, Belk generated total of over $9.5 million in contributions to participating nonprofits.


Easter Seals UCP North Carolina & Virginia  received $27,301 from East Carolina Behavioral Health for a weekend respite care camp for children and adults with disabilities in northeastern North Carolina; to launch Camp Tuscarora in spring 2011 at Eastern 4-H Camp, Columbia, N.C.


Hospice of Wake County received $1,000 from Weyerhaeuser Company Foundation to be used for its benevolent care program providing free medical  care to terminally-ill, disadvantaged patients.
