Dec. 21: Critical Need Response Fund, Elon law school, Heart Association, and more

With gifts from Duke Energy Foundation and Piedmont Natural Gas Foundation, plus initial $1 million matching grant from Leon Levine Foundation, Critical Need Response Fund in Charlotte has begun taking grant requests for emergency winter funding.

Elon University School of Law in Greensboro established Humanitarian Immigration Law Clinic, allowing students under supervision of law faculty provide free legal services to low-income refugees and asylum seekers in North Carolina.
