Dec. 21: Winston-Salem Foundation, Triangle Community Foundation, Rural Center, and more

Winston-Salem Foundation awarded 13 community grants totaling $561,682 organizations focusing on arts and culture, human services, health, educational, and public interest in Forsyth County.


Triangle Community Foundation made grants totaling $181,700 to 14 organizations in fall 2010 from its community grantmaking program.


N.C. Rural Economic Development Center awarded 38 grants totaling over $5 million to create 427 jobs, provide clean water and promote economic development in North Carolina; grants made possible by appropriations from state lawmakers.


CORRAL Riding Academy building new horseback riding arena on its farm in Cary, with $5,000 American Airlines grant from Triangle Community Foundation’s donor-advised funds, plus over $14,000 in cash and in-kind donations, including support from Jason Pleasants of Kenneth West and from Wake Stone. CORRAL also received $5,000 grant from Carolina Hurricanes hockey team through the Kids ‘N Community Foundation.


Leon Levine Foundation awarded $10,000 grant to Answer Scholarship Endowment to help send Mecklenburg County mothers to college.


United Arts Council of Raleigh and Wake County awarded $21,000 in grants to 18 individual local artists residing in Franklin, Johnston, Vance, Wake and Warren counties in support of professional development initiatives.
