Jan. 13: Hunger Walk, Duke Endowment, Conservation Council, and more

30th Anniversary Greater Greensboro CROP Hunger Walk sponsored by Greensboro Urban Ministry raised $220,000 to fight hunger locally and globally, up nearly $30,000 from last year, making the event the largest CROP HUnger Walk in teh U.S. for the first time in its history.


L. Neil Williams Jr., former managing partner, Alston & Bird law firm, Atlanta, elected chairman, board of trustees, The Duke Endowment, Charlotte, succeeding Russell M. Robinson II, who headed board since 2001.


Conservation Council of North Carolina, state’s oldest independent state-level citizen conservation group, changed name to North Carolina League of Conservation Voters.
