Jan. 13: Kate B., NASCAR, Briar Chapel, and more

Health Care Division, Kate B. Reynolds Charitable Trust, awarded 48 new grants totaling over $7 million, marking Trust’s return to comprehensive grantmaking, considering applications within all four of Division’s priority areas, with focus on least-resourced counties in the state.


NASCAR Foundation contributed over $3.3 million to nonprofits throughout U.S. and engaged over 250,000 fans in support of children’s charities through U.S.


“Green” community Briar Chapel by Newland Communities will commit $100,000 to Chatham County and donate over $42,000 to other local charities in 2010; Bob McLeod, Newland’s CEO, to be honored with the Hearthstone BUILDER Humanitarian Award at the International Builders’ Show in Orlando.


Applications open March 1 for TechTriad’s Seventh Annual Extreme Nonprofit Makeover pro-bono initiative funded in part by Weaver Foundation, with TechTriad providing website development, SNS Inc. handling technology upgrades, and Rooster Communications providing public relations and social-media services.
