Feb. 2: Blackbaud, Heyman Center, Commonfund, and more

Blackbaud, Charleston, S.C., acquired Public Interest Data, Alexandria, Va.-based company that provides database-management services, acquisition-list services, and data-analytics-and-enrichment services for nonprofits, for $17.5 million, financed with cash on hand, plus additional amount up to $2.5 million in contingent payments based upon performance of the acquired business through the two-year anniversary of the transaction.


Heyman Center at NYU selected by Credit Suisse to create education program designed to help individuals get started in philanthropy.


Fredric “Rick” Nelson, former vice chairman and chief investment officer, ING Investment Management Americas, named chief investment officer, Commonfund Group, and CEO, Commonfund Asset Management Company; A. Nicholas De Monico, deputy chief investment officer, named CEO, Commonfund Marketable Alternatives, division of Commonfund Asset Management Company; Michael Strauss, Commonfund chief economist, also also will assume title of chief investment strategist, Commonfund Asset Management Company.


Karae Lisle, former chief marketing officer, Computer History Museum, named executive director, Shelter Network, succeeding Michele Jackson, who is retiring after a decade of leading the organization.
