March 2: Rural Center, Dillard’s, Wesley Mancini and more

North Carolina Rural Economic Development Center awarded 46 grants totaling $5.4 million to create or retain 1,400 jobs, provide clean water and promote economic development in over 40 rural counties.


Ronald McDonald House of Winston-Salem received $19,636.66 from Dillard’s stores in Asheboro, Greensboro, Hickory, High Point, and Winston-Salem through sale of Southern Living Ultimate Christmas Cookbooks.


Wesley Mancini Foundation, Charlotte, awarded $2,500 to  Women’s and Gender Studies Program, UNC-Charlotte; $1,000 to Multicultural Resource Center Transgender Committee, UNC-Charlotte; and $1,500 to Campus Pride and Time Out Youth.


March 21 is deadline for submitting grants applications to EE Smith Academic Excellence Giving Circle at Cumberland Community Foundation for programs to strengthen math and science learning in EE Smith attendance area.


April 11 is deadline for submitting applications for 2011 grants to BJH Foundation for Senior Services, Greensboro.
