March 25: Urban Ministries, Conservation Trust, YWCA, and more

Urban Ministries of Durham’s Empty Bowls event sold nearly 700 tickets and raised over $25,000 to help its Community Café provide hundreds and hundreds of meals; presenting sponsor was MindWorks Multimedia.


Conservation Trust for North Carolina sold 110 acres in Haywood County in February to National Park Service for $500,000, less than half of appraised value of entire parcel, which the Trust acquired from Joe and Wilma Jo Arrington through sale of 64 acres in April 2010 and donation of adjoining 46 acres in June 2010.
